Troubleshooting
Lip Kit
Problem | Probable Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Doesn't stick or stay adhered | The supplied screws and washers were not used | The tape on the lip is an installation aid. Our 3M adhesive is one of the best there is, but all aftermarket lips require use of the included screws to maintain a tight, long-lasting fit. |
Surface of car is unpainted | The lip kit, even when correctly applied, doesn't hold to unpainted surfaces. Secure the lip with the supplies screws. | |
Doesn't bend around the curves of my bumper | There is an angulation or turn in vehicle structure, so Lip must be cut with "V"s | Strategically place "V" cuts suggested in the directions and installation video. However, limit the amount of V cuts, so you can install screws. |
Looks wavy or warped | Installation not correct | Reapply the lip with the screws - attempt a smoother installation. |
Too cold to install the Lip kit | Cold temperatures can make the lip less pliable | The Lip Kit installs easiest in warmer temperatures. However, using the screws and washers will always ensure a tight fit. A hair dryer can be carefully used to help bend the lip in cold temps. |
I don't want to use screws | No screws used | All quality, aftermarket lips require use of screws to maintain a tight, long-lasting fit. The kits' lifetime warranty is only applicable if the included screws are used. |
